Reclaim disk
space. Safely.

Trasher — Scan results

Live size ring + per-category breakdown

Everything you need.

A complete cleaning toolkit with native macOS integration, built from the ground up in Swift.

Smart Scan

A multi-threaded scan engine sweeps 9 categories in seconds, streaming results live so you see space pile up as it goes — no main-thread freeze.

Auto-Pilot

Set it and forget it. Trasher cleans on a schedule — daily, weekly or monthly — or the moment junk crosses a disk-space threshold you choose.

Safe by Default

Files move to Trash first, so every clean is undoable. Prefer a hard wipe? Secure-delete mode is one toggle away — your call, never ours.

Liquid Glass UI

A native menu-bar popover built with the macOS Tahoe design language — translucent glass panels, a live size ring, and a per-category breakdown that feels right at home on your desktop.

Custom Rules

Build your own cleaning rules from file extensions, folders and file age. Target exactly the junk you care about and leave everything else untouched.

Scheduling

Daily, weekly or monthly background scans with native notifications.

Auto-Updates

Built-in Sparkle updater keeps you on the latest build, signed and verified.

Launch at Login

Auto-start via macOS Service Management. One toggle in settings.

Confirm Before Clean

Optional confirmation dialog before anything is removed. On by default.

9 categories. One scan.

Trasher knows exactly where macOS hides reclaimable space — and shows you each pile before you touch it.

Caches

App & system cache files that pile up silently

Logs

Diagnostic logs you never read

Downloads

Old installers and forgotten downloads

Trash

Items already in the bin, fully purged

Browser

Safari, Chrome & Firefox cache data

Temp Files

Stale temporary files left behind

Developer

Xcode DerivedData, simulators, build junk

Mail

Cached attachments and mail downloads

Crash Reports

Diagnostic crash dumps & spin reports

Safe by design.

Cleaning a Mac shouldn't feel like a gamble. Trasher gives you visibility, reversibility and control at every step.

Trash-First Cleaning

By default nothing is destroyed — files move to the Trash, so a misclick is one Cmd-Z away. Secure delete is opt-in, never the default.

See Before You Clean

Every scan shows a per-category breakdown with exact sizes. You pick what goes — Trasher never decides for you.

Protected Paths & Whitelist

Critical system locations are off-limits, and anything you whitelist stays whitelisted across every future scan.

Confirm on Demand

Keep the confirmation dialog on for a final check before each clean, or switch it off once you trust the flow.

Privacy First

Your files never leave your Mac. No analytics, no telemetry, no phone-home. Settings live locally in UserDefaults.

  • Zero data collection
  • Fully local — no cloud
  • No sign-in to scan or clean
  • License key stored in Keychain
